7 Layer Salad

  1. Place 3 cups of the lettuce in bottom of a large bowl. Sprinkle with a little sugar, salt and pepper.
  2. Layer eggs on top of lettuce in bowl.
  3. Sprinkle generously with salt.
  4. Layer in order:
  5. peas, remaining lettuce, bacon and cheese.
  6. Spread mayonnaise over the top, sealing to edge of bowl.
  7. Cover; refrigerate 24 hours or overnight.
  8. Garnish
  9. with green onion and sprinkle with paprika, if desired.
  10. Toss before serving.
  11. Makes 12 to 15 servings.
