Grandmother Ballard'S Pound Cake

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a mixing bowl, cream butter & shortening. Add sugar, beating until well-mixed. Add eggs one at a time.
  2. 2. Sift flour & baking powder then add alternately with milk, mixing thoroughly. Add flavorings.
  3. 3. Pour into large bundt pan (preferably one without the funny shapes - we go for a smooth, round tube pan in my family) that has been sprayed with Baker's Joy. (Alternately, you can rub pan with butter & coat with flour. But Baker's Joy seems to work best.)
  4. 4. Bake for 1 hour & 15-20 minutes at 325 degrees F.
