Grandma Josephines Ice Box Cake
- -1 pkg Chocolate Cake Mx (Use devil's food)
- -1 pkg (3.9 oz) Jello instant pudding- chocolate (I found devil's food flavor.)
- -4 eggs
- -1 8 oz container sour cream
- -1/2 cup water
- -1/4 cup milk
- -1 pkg semi sweet Chocolate - chopped
- -18 small candy canes coarsely chopped ( I found a jar of crushed peppermint candy)
- -1 tub Cool Whip thawed ( I used heavy whipping cream whipped with honey to desired sweetness.)
- Heat oven to 350.
- Beat first 7 ingredients in a mixer. Stir in chapped chocolate.
- Stir in 2 TBS candy (I did not)
- Pour into 2 9" round pans (I used 10 x 15)
- Bake 35- 40 minutes
- Cool completely.
- Fill and frost. I cut the cake in half horizontally, then split the sides. Frost each layer, sprinkling with candy. Freeze until set, then wrap and return to freezer.
