Jello Poke Cakes

  2. 1.Make cake as instructed on the box into two separate layers. Let them completely cool.
  3. 2.Place cake layers, top sides up, in two clean 8- or 9-inch layer pans. Prick each cake with fork at 1/2 inch intervals.
  4. 3.Meanwhile, dissolve each package of Jello separately in 1 cup of the boiling water.
  5. 4.Carefully pour raspberry Jello over one cake layer and lime Jello over the second cake layer.
  6. 5.Chill 3 to 4 hours, Dip one cake pan in warm water for 10 seconds
  7. 6.Unmold second layer carefully onto the first layer. Frost top and sides with remaining topping and chill.
  8. You can also combine cool whip with jello or pudding for a different frosting.
