Swedish Cabbage Pudding(Meat Loaf)
- 1 medium sized cabbage
- 1/2 c. Karo syrup
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 1 lb. hamburg
- 6 pieces bread, soaked in water
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 egg
- healthy squirt of catsup
- Chop cabbage coarsely and saute in butter or margarine.
- Add Karo syrup and vinegar.
- Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mix hamburg, bread, pepper, salt, onion powder, allspice, nutmeg, egg and catsup.
- Mix well.
- Grease baking dish.
- Cover bottom of dish with one-half of the cabbage mixture.
- Spread hamburg mixture over the cabbage and then put the rest of the cabbage and juice on top of the hamburg.
- Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350u0b0.
