Swift And Sweet Grilled Onion Appetizer
- 4 med to large sweet onions
- 4 tablespoons italian seasoned bread crumbs
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 teaspoons beef bullion powder
- 8 mushrooms, sliced
- 8 teaspoons water
- Peel the onions, cut a core out of center of onion measuring about 3/4" diameter. Do not cut thru the bottom of the onion. Make 4 cuts around the onion from core to outside layer...again leaving the bottom of onion uncut. Mix bread crumbs, butter and beef bullion with a fork. Stuff the center of onions with the mixture. Cut heavy duty foil into 4 pieces large enough to seal around the individual onions. Divide the sliced mushrooms over the four pieces of foil, place the stuffed onion on mushrooms. Sprinkle two teaspoons of water over each and seal tightly. Place on grill for about 1/2 hr. Open carefully over a bowl and serve hot as an appetizer...or over steak as an entree!
