Chocolate Birthday Cake

  1. Pour batter into 2- 9" layer cake pans.
  2. Bake 30-35 minutes at 350u0b0F.
  3. After completely cooled, slice of rounded tops with bread knife.
  4. Frost with 3-4-minute frosting.
  5. In top of double boiler
  6. 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  7. 1/2 cup sugar
  8. 2 egg whites
  9. 1/8 teas. salt
  10. 1 teas. Vanilla
  11. Partially mix, place on rapidly boiling water and cook 3 to 4 minutes, beating constantly with hand mixer until stiff. Remove and beat in vanilla.
  12. FROST CAKE - refrigerate and serve cold
