Graham Crackers Homemade
- 2 Cups Whole-Wheat Flour
- 1 Cup Enriched Flour
- 1 TSP Baking Powder
- 1/2 TSP Soda
- 1/4 TSP Salt
- 1/2 Cup Shortening
- 3/4 Cup Light Brown Sugar
- 1 TSP Vanilla
- 1/4 Cup Milk
- Preheat oven to 350*
- Stir together flours,powder,soda & salt.
- Cream together shortening,sugar, until fluffy,add vanilla then dry ingred.alternate with milk, mix well after ea. addition.
- Chill dough until firm or overnite.
- Divide dough into thirds. Roll out ea. portion on floured surface to 1/8" thick rectangle. Trim to 15 X 5 rect. Cut into 6 (2 1/2 X 5" rect.)Make a line down center of dough with the back of a knife. Place on greased sheet. Mark ea. square with fork tines.Bake 10-12 min. or until crispy & edges are browned. Remove immediately from sheets & cool on racks
