Cheesy Beef Pie
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 1/2 c. diced green pepper
- 3 Tbsp. minced onion
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce with mushrooms
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1 1/2 c. shredded mild Cheddar, divided
- 1/2 c. Commercial sour cream
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 (5 oz.) can refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
- Saute beef, green pepper and onion in a skillet until meat is done.
- Drain well on paper towels.
- Return to skillet.
- Add tomato sauce and seasonings.
- Combine 1/2 cup cheese, sour cream and egg; mix well and stir into meat mixture.
- Spoon into an 8-inch baking dish.
- Split biscuits and place on top of meat mixture.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Sprinkle pie with remaining cheese during the last 10 minutes of baking.
- Serves 4 to 5.
