Kolaches

  1. Pour
  2. 1/4
  3. cup
  4. lukewarm
  5. water over yeast and 2 tablespoons sugar,
  6. let
  7. stand
  8. 5
  9. minutes then add 1 cup lukewarm milk, again let stand 5 minutes then add 1 1/2 cups flour and let
  10. rise a
  11. little.
  12. Add
  13. eggs,
  14. 1/4
  15. cup sugar, salt, 1 cup lukewarm milk, butter, lard, cream and 4 1/4 cups flour.
  16. Mix with
  17. wooden spoon until smooth.
  18. Let rise.
  19. Mix down and let rise
  20. until double.
  21. Then dip out by a tablespoon on a floured board
  22. and roll in palm of your hands into a nice ball.
  23. Place on
  24. greased
  25. cookie sheet and brush with butter.
  26. Let rise and press
  27. center
  28. down and fill with stewed fruit, prunes, apricots,
  29. peaches, or cottage cheese.
  30. Sprinkle with topping made of
  31. 1/2
  32. cup
  33. flour,
  34. 1/2
  35. cup sugar
  36. and about 2 tablespoons butter.
  37. Let rise and bake at 375u0b0.
