Devil Food'S Cake
- Sugar - 1.25 (1 1/4) cups
- Buttermilk - 1 cup
- Vegetable oil - .66 (2/3) cups
- Eggs - 2
- Vanilla - 1 teaspoon
- All-purpouse flour - 1.5 (1 1/2) cups
- Cocoa powder - .5 (1/2) cups
- Baking soda - 1.25 (1 1/4) teaspoons
- If making frosting:
- Unsalted butter - 1 stick
- Chopped chocolate - 2 ounces
- Cocoa power - .33 (1/3) cups
- Vanilla - 2 teaspoons
- Powdered sugar - 2 cups
- Sour cream - .66 (2/3) cups
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 2. Spray Pam on one 8-inch diameter cake pan with 1.5 inch-high sides.
- 3. Dump sugar, buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla into a bowl and either hand-stir or whisk.
- 4. Sift in flour, cocoa, and baking soda while stirring.
- 5. Once a rich brown, spread evenly into pan.
- 6. Bake for twenty-five minutes.
- 7. Place onto a plate.
- 8. Enjoy. :D
