Cardamon French Toast
- 4 Eggs
- 1.5c half-half
- 1/3c sugar (to taste)
- 3 tsp vanilla
- 1/8 tsp allspice
- 1 1/4 tsp ground cardamon
- Six thick slices of Cinnamon Bread (Texas toast thickness)
- 1.5 Tbsp unsalted butter
- Heavily butter a9x13 baking dish
- Place bread slices in dish
- Combine first six ingredients (through cardamon), stiring well to combine.
- Pour half of the custard over the bread, flip the bread, and pour over the remainder of the custard.
- Cover with plastic and refrigerate overnight.
- Remove from fridge, and remove plastic.
- Preheat oven to 400--allow the bread to come to room temp while the oven heats
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, flip the bread, and bake for an additional ten minutes or under golden and slightly crispy.
