Mild Bean Chili Con Carne
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 lb lean ground beef
- 2 15 oz cans of diced tomatoes (liquid included)
- 2 15 oz cans red kidney beans (liquid drained)
- 2 15 oz cans pinto beans (liquid drained)
- 2 8 oz can tomato sauce
- 1 medium white onion diced
- 4 tbsp chopped celery
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder or to taste
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup water if needed
- Cook onions in olive oil until soft over medium heat.
- Add celery and cook until soft.
- Add hamburger to pan breaking into small pieces.
- Continue cooking until beef is brown.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Stir to combine thoroughly.
- Bring to simmer over medium heat.
- Reduce burner to low.
- Continue simmering for 50 - 60 min.
- Stir occasionally.
