Strawberry Basil Fizz

  1. 1) Pour out a bit of sugar onto a plate.
  2. Slide a lime slice around the rim of the
  3. glass and carefully roll the outer edge
  4. of the glass in the sugar.
  5. 2) In a large mixing glass, muddle the
  6. strawberries, basil, lime and sugar.
  7. You don't need to pulverize the
  8. goods, just give them a good smash
  9. so that you release all the juices.
  10. If you don't have a muddler, get
  11. crafty, just don't mix metal with glass!
  12. 3) Add the rum, cider, and about 6-8 ice
  13. cubes (depends on your trays). Give in
  14. about two firm shakes with a shaker,
  15. careful though, it's under pressure.
  16. Don't have a shaker? Just pour back
  17. and forth a few times from one glass
  18. to the other.
  19. 4) Pour the mix evenly between the two
  20. glasses and top with the ginger
  21. ale/beer. Garnish with a lime slice
  22. wrapped around a small piece of basil
  23. and strawberry slice.
