Candied Michigan Apples

  1. Line a baking sheet with greased parchment paper, or use a nonstick mat
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, Virtue Cider Michigan Apple and food coloring
  3. Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat to medium high
  4. Insert candy thermometer and continue to boil until temperature reaches between 300-310 degrees F or "Hard crack" phase
  5. Insert wooden skewers into the top of each washed apple, pushing it halfway through
  6. When mixture reaches temperature, immediately remove from heat
  7. Working quickly, swirl apples in sugar mixture until completely coated; transfer to lined baking sheet and cool completely
