Dutch Apple Pie
- 6 cups of sliced macintosh apples
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 cup of granulated sugar divided
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 5 tablespoons of margarine
- graham cracker crust
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon, divided
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour divided
- preheat oven to 400 degrees F
- peel and slice apples sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning
- mix brown sugar, 3/4 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/2 cup of flour.
- pour dry mixture in with apples and mix thoroughly
- in the mean time, spread the beaten egg yolk around the bottom and edges of crust and bake for just 5 minutes to seal the crust
- pour apple mixture into the pie crust
- mix remaining ingredients with margarine until lumpy mixure, sprinkle over the apple pie until covered
- bake for 50 minutes + or - a few depending on oven
