Meat Ball Curry
- 1 lb extra lean ground beef
- 2 lg sweet onions diced
- 2 lg tomatoes diced
- 2 cloves of garlic crushed
- 1 inch ginger crushed
- 11/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/2 c chopped fresh corriander
- 1 tbsp flour (gram flour if available from your Indian market)
- 1/4 c olive oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp corriander powder
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- Mix ground beef with 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2tbsp corriander, 1 tbsp flour, 1/2 tbsp garam masala and egg. Make into 1 inch meat balls, set aside.
- Fry onion until golden. Add garlic,ginger and saute for 2 mins. Add tomatoes, paste and spices, cook for 10 mins. Add 1 cup of water and bring to a boil, add meat balls carefully not to break. Cook on low 15-20mins until cooked through. Add fresh corriander and stir. Serve over basmati.
