Carol'S Caramel Turtle Cake

  1. Mix together dry cake mix, flour, melted butter, eggs and 2/3 cup evaporated milk. Divide this batter in half. Pour half in a greased 13x9 inch pan and bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Set other half aside. Melt caramels with other 1/3 cup of evaporated milk. Pour evenly over first baked layer of cake. This forms the second layer. For third layer, sprinkle chips and nuts over melted caramel layer. Pour remaining batter over top for fourth layer. Return to oven and bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar for a pretty effect, if desired.
