Dates Cake In Caramel Sauce

  4. Boil 1 cup of chopped dates in 1 cup water. Remove from the stove and add 3/4 tsp of baking soda and let it cool down.
  5. Cream the sugar and the butter together using hand mixer or whisk. Add eggs to this and whisk well. Add vanilla essence to this and add flour and fold to this mixture. Add the cooled dates mixture to this and mix everything well.
  6. Grease the baking pan with butter and pour the dates mixture to the pan. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F and bake for 45-50 mts till the cake turns brown and firm.
  7. Caramel Sauce:
  8. Mix all the sauce ingredients together and bring to a boil. Let it simmer for 3-4 mts until it thickens.
  9. Pour the caramel sauce over the dates cake as soon as the cake is out from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 mts. Its ready to be served now. Decorate with dates and enjoy the delicious dates cake !
  10. Tips:
  11. - After 45-50 mts of baking, if the center of the cake is not firm enough, keep the cake on the upper rack of the oven and bake for 5mts nd remove from the oven and let the cake cool down for 10-15mts to set !
