Lasagne, Shortcut Style

  1. Brown meat slowly.
  2. Spoon off excess fat.
  3. Add the next 4 ingredients; cover and simmer 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Salt to taste.
  4. Cook noodles in boiling salted water until tender; drain.
  5. Rinse in cold water.
  6. Place half the noodles in an 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch baking dish.
  7. Cover with a third of the sauce.

  9. Mozzarella, then half the cottage cheese. Repeat layers, ending with sauce.
  10. Top with Parmesan cheese.
  11. Bake in a 350u0b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
  12. Let stand 15 minutes.
  13. Cut into squares.
  14. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
