Microwave Swedish Crunch
- 1 c. walnut halves
- 3/4 c. almonds or pecans
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
- 1 egg white
- 1/2 c. sugar
- dash of salt (scant 1/8 tsp.)
- Combine walnuts and almonds in 2-quart (12 x 17-inch) glass baking dish.
- Microwave on High for about 2 minutes or until hot. Beat egg white in a small mixing bowl until stiff peaks form. Beat in sugar and salt. Stir in hot nuts. Set aside.
- Place butter in 2-quart (12 x 7-inch) glass baking dish.
- Microwave for about 1 minute on Roast or until melted. Add cinnamon (if desired) to nut mixture and mix.
- Spread nut mixture into melted butter and microwave on Roast for 6 minutes. Stir well and continue cooking on Roast for an additional 5 minutes or until glazed. Stir well and let stand 10 minutes until cool and hardened.
- Break apart and serve.
