Potato And Cabbage Casserole
- 5 red potatoes
- 1/2 stick margarine
- 1 small head cabbage, chopped
- 2 onions, chopped
- garlic or garlic salt
- 1 c. grated American or Cheddar cheese
- 1 (13 oz.) can chicken broth
- Boil potatoes until half soft.
- Peel skins and cut in 1/4 inch slices; set on side.
- Melt margarine in frying pan.
- Saute cabbage and onions until soft.
- Add sliced potatoes, mix well.
- Sprinkle with garlic to taste (a lot).
- Lay half of cabbage/potato mixture in big casserole dish.
- Sprinkle cup of cheese over mixture. Spread other half of cabbage/potato mixture on top of cheese.
- In small pan, melt 2 tablespoons butter, add 1/4 cup flour and mix until bubbles.
- Slowly add chicken broth, mixing well.
- When thick, pour over cabbage/potato mixture.
- Bake in 350u0b0 oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
