Hot And Sweet Beef And Rice Bundles(Korean)
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- 1 lb. lean ground beef or more
- 6 green onions, sliced on diagonal
- 1/4 c. rice wine or dry sherry
- 2 Tbsp. Chinese chili paste with garlic or more depending on how hot your taste is
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tsp. finely chopped peeled ginger root or shredded
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 heads Boston lettuce, washed and separated
- 4 Tbsp. tamari or soy sauce
- 4 Tbsp. sesame seed
- 2 c. steamed white "sticky" or regular long grain rice
- Heat sesame oil in skillet and brown meat.
- Drain.
- Add chopped green onions, sherry or wine, chili paste, garlic, ginger, soy sauce and sugar.
- Cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle sesame seed over meat and serve with lettuce and rice.
- Guests make their
- own bundles filling a lettuce leaf with rice and meat mixture.
