Dutch Apple Dessert
- 5 c. all-purpose apples, chopped and peeled
- 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. cold margarine or butter
- 1 1/2 c. biscuit mix
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
- In a medium bowl, combine apples, sweetened condensed milk and cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, cut 1/2 cup margarine into 1 cup biscuit mix until crumbly.
- Stir in apple mixture.
- Pour into a 9-inch square baking pan.
- In a small bowl, combine remaining 1/2 cup biscuit mix and sugar.
- Cut in remaining 2 tablespoons margarine until crumbly; add nuts.
- Sprinkle evenly over apple mixture.
- Bake one hour or until golden.
- Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
