Josie'S Nut Roll
- 10 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 5 tsp. baking powder
- 1-1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups vegetable oil
- 1 lg. jar grape jam
- 1 lb. walnuts, chopped
- 1 16 oz. box raising
- 1 bag Nestle semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1-1/2 cups cold water
- Confectioners Sugar for sprinkling
- Mix flour, salt and baking powder together. In a separate large mixing bowl, mix together the sugar and eggs. Add the oil and water and mix. Add dry ingredients to mixture a little at a time until combined. Place on flat surface and knead until smooth. Cut into four equal pieces. Roll out each piece to about 1/4 inch thickness. Spread with jam to about 1 inch from edge. Sprinkle generously with walnuts, raisins and chocolate morsels. Roll up dough and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Be sure to fold over the ends. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until light golden brown. When cooled, slice into 1/2 thick slices. Place on a tray and sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
