Best Whole Wheat Pizza Crust

  1. 1) Mix all dry ingredients in a medium mixing bowl with a wooden spoon.
  2. 2) Meanwhile, put the wet ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat and bring to about 120-130 F. (Use a thermometre, or if none is available, you shouldn't be able to keep your finger in longer than five-seven seconds.)
  3. 3) Add the wet to the dry and stir. Add as much extra flour as needed to make dough easy to handle.
  4. 4) Knead dough for about five minutes on floured surface and form into a sphere. Lightly oil a bowl and place inside, turning once to coat it. Let rise for one hour or until doubled. TRICK: Before you start, turn your oven on to no higher than 150 F, and then once dough is ready to rise, turn oven off and stick inside. It will speed the rising time.
  5. 5) Once dough has risen, punch down and let rest for five minutes. Preheat oven to 415 F. Form into a ball again and roll out with a rolling pin into desired shape to fit pizza pan.
  6. 6) Place desired ingredients on top of pizza, cook for about 20-25 minutes. Enjoy!
