Caliente Margarita Recipe
- For the caliente tequila:
- 15 Japanese Chile Pods
- 1 liter bottle of Luna Azul Reposado or 100% Agave Reposado tequila
- For the sweet n sour mix:
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 cup pure cane sugar
- 1 1/4 cups lime juice
- For the margarita mix:
- 1 1/2 ounces Luna Azul Reposado Tequila
- 3/4 ounce Caliente Tequila
- 1/2 ounce Triple Sec
- 4 ounces home made sweet n sour
- Juice from 1/4 of an orange
- To make caliente tequila:
- Place Japanese chile pods in a 1 liter bottle chosen tequila. Set aside and wait for 3 weeks. Note: The longer it macerates the spicier the tequila gets. This tequila makes great Bloody Marias or for the daring person a great shot.
- To make sweet n sour mix:
- Combine water and sugar in a pot and simmer until sugar has dissolved. Chill liquid and then add lime juice.
- To make caliente margarita:
- Combine the tequilas, triple sec, sweet n sour mix, and orange juice and stir. Serve over ice with a salted rim and a chile for garnish.
