Grandma'S Beef Curry
- 2 lbs. meat cut into cubes
- 1" piece grated ginger
- 6 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp mixed spice powder ( 1/3 cinnamon, 1/3 ground cloves, 1/3 cardamon )
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp ground pepper
- 1 T Balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 can chopped tomatoes
- 2 medium onions sliced
- Boil first 5 ingredients on medium heat til water almost gone.
- Next 5 ingredients make into paste.
- In separate pan, fry onions till golden brown.
- Add in paste and fry well.
- Add to meat, if not enough liquid, add in some water ( 1/4 cup)
- Slow cook till soft - about 1 hr. Can be done in slow cooker. Serve with rice or crusty bread.
