Irish Soda Bread
- 4-1/2 CtAll purpose Flour
- 2 tbsp.tSugar
- 1 tsptt Salt
- 1 tsptt Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsptBaking Soda
- 3/4 Ctt Raisins
- 2 tsptt Caraway seeds
- 2 Ctt Buttermilk
- 1tt Large Egg, slightly beaten
- Preheat oven to 350 Degrees
- 1.tix first five ingredients in a large bowl
- 2.ttir in raisins and caraway seeds
- 3.tdd Buttermilk using wooden spoon - Dough will be sticky
- 4.tlour hands and rolling surface, knead dough ten times
- 5.tut small piece to form stem
- 6.tivide dough in three and form balls
- 7.trease Cookie Sheet
- 8.tn Cookie Sheet, Shape into Shamrock and place stem at top
- 9.trush top with beaten egg
- 10.take for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Note: recipe can be cut in half for smaller loaf.
