Cubed Steak Patty Melt
- 2 tbsp. Butter, divided
- 2 tbsp. Olive oil, divided
- 1 small onion, sliced thin
- 2 lbs. cubed steak (4 patties)
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 8 slices sourdough bread or buns
- 3 tbsp. Mayo
- 3 tbsp. Mustard
- 1. Coat grill rack with nonstick cooking spray. Preheat grill to medium- high.
- 2. In a medium skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of the butter and 1 tablespoon of the oil over medium heat. Add onion; cook until soft and light golden brown, 5 to 8 minutes. Set aside.
- 3. Brush steaks with remaining oil. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper to taste. Grill one side of the steaks 5 minutes. Turn over and top with cheese. Grill 5 minutes more.
- 4. Meanwhile, spread remaining butter on bread; toast bread on grill.
- 5. Spread mayo and mustard evenly on toasted bread. Place onions and 1 steak on each of 4 toasted bread slices; top with remaining bread slices.
