Exceptional Spare Ribs

  1. Combine first 7 ingredients in small saucepan. Stir constantly just until sauce simmers and all ingredients are smooth. Allow to cool for 15 minutes. Pour marinade in a shallow dish. Cut ribs into individual pieces. Add ribs to marinade. Cover with plastic and refrigerate overnight.
  2. Prepare barbecue (medium heat). Grill until meat is nearly totally cooked, about 40 minutes, turning and basting regularly. Raise the heat on the bbq and grill ribs until brown and crisp on edges, brushing with more sauce from bowl and turning occasionally, about 10 minutes. Serve ribs with wasabi mashed potatoes and ginger snap peas.
