Black Magic Cake
- 1 3/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. unsweetened cocoa
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. strong black coffee 2 tsp. instant coffee granules w/ 1 c. boiling water
- *I typically just use boiling water for this part-makes a great basic chocolate cake
- 1 c. buttermilk or sour milk 1 tbsp. vinegar plus 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in large mixer bowl. Add eggs, coffee, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla and beat 2 minutes on medium speed batter will be very thin!.
- Pour into greased and floured 13x9 pan or two 9 in. pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
