Chocolate-Drizzled Cherry Bars
- Crumb mixture:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 cups uncooked quick oats
- 1 1/4 cups softened unsalted butter
- Filling:
- 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- Drizzle:
- 1/2 cup real semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 Tablespoon shortening
- Heat oven to 350.
- Combine all crumb mixture in large bowl. Beat at low speed until mixture resembles course crumbs. Research 1 1/2 cup crumb mixture. Press remaining mixture onto bottom of ungreased 13" x 9" baking pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until very lightly browned.
- Meanwhile, combine all filling ingredients in same bowl. Spread filling over hot, partially baked crust; sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. Bake for 27-32 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Melt chocolate chips and shortening over low, heating and stirring constantly until smooth. Drizzle over bars and cool.
