Chocolate Cookie Bars
- unsalted saltine crackers (1 sleeve)
- 1 stick butter (better than margarine)
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 12 oz. bag chocolate chips
- chopped walnuts
- powdered sugar
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
- Line jelly roll pan (cookie sheet with sides) with tinfoil.
- Lay crackers flat, filling entire sheet. Melt butter and sugar on stove; bring to boil.
- Spoon (do not pour) butter/sugar over crackers.
- Put pan into oven for 5 minutes only (looks like the crackers are floating).
- Remove pan from oven and shut oven off.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over crackers and return to warm oven for a minute or two until the chips are melted. Spread chocolate evenly over crackers.
- Sprinkle nuts and powdered sugar over chocolate.
- Cut lengthwise in four rows and then cut each row seperately at angle.
- Refrigerate until hard, remove from pan, tear foil off crackers and break into pieces.
- You may want to sprinkle more powdered sugar on cookies.
- Yum!
