N.O.B.B.Q. Shrimp
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/3 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- Dash(es) of hot sauce
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1 can good NOLA beer
- 3 pounds large shrimps, HEADS ON
- 1 loaf FRESH french bread
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- 1. In a large saucepan over LOW HEAT, melt the butter with the olive oil. Add the Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, black and cayenne peppers, bay leaves, thyme, rosemary, oregano, hot sauce, and lemon slices. Heat for 10 minutes, add beer and heat for another 5 until hot. Place shrimp in single layer in baking dish, pour NOBBQ sauce over shrimp and stir to coat well.
- 2. Place in the oven and bake, basting with the sauce occasionally, for 10-15 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and the tails slightly curved.
- 3. Remove the baking dish from the oven. Remove the bay leaves from sauce, then spoon the shrimp and sauce into bowls, and serve with fresh french bread.
