Kitchen Cherry Clafouti

  1. Place the milk, heavy cream, vanilla paste, eggs and flour and sugar in a mixer and blend together. Place the mixture in a covered bowl and leave it to chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours. The batter will last for 2 days just give it a good stir before using.
  2. When you are ready to bake, pre heat the oven to 325 F. Take an ovenproof dish that is large enough to hold the cherries and the batter and leave some room to the top rim. Rub the inside with butter and then put in the excess sugar and shake the bowl around- you are trying to coat the dish with a sugary, buttery layer.
  3. Next, place the cherries over the bottom of the dish. Then pour the batter over the cherries- it should come about 3/4 of the way up the sides. Place in pre heated oven and bake for about 25 minutes. It will be ready when a toothpick can come out clean.
  4. When it is ready remove from the oven and leave it to cool for 15 minutes. Dust with sugar and serve with whip cream or ice cream.
