Beef Stroganoff(Serves 4 To 6)

  1. Combine flour, salt and pepper; trim fat from meat.
  2. Rub both sides with garlic.
  3. Pound flour into meat.
  4. Cut meat in 1 1/2 x 1-inch strips.
  5. In hot butter, in Dutch oven, brown meat, turning often.
  6. Add onion, saute until golden brown.
  7. Add water, stir to dissolve brown bits in bottom of pan.
  8. Add soup, mushrooms.
  9. Cook uncovered over low heat, stirring occasionally until mixture is thick and meat is tender.
  10. Just before serving, stir in sour cream. Heat but do not boil.
  11. Serve over rice or noodles.
