Sassy Cocktail Meatballs
- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 slightly beaten egg
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper
- 1/3 c. chopped onion
- 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. bread crumbs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. chopped green pepper
- 4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. wine vinegar
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- Mix beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt and pepper.
- Shape into small balls.
- Fry or broil until brown, turning once.
- Drain well. In saucepan saute onions and green peppers until tender.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Stir until sugar is dissolved, then pour over meatballs and simmer slowly, covered, for 15 to 30 minutes. Serve hot.
