Chocolate Turtle Cake

  1. heat oven 350' or use pkg.temp. for glass pan
  2. place unwrapped caramenls in small mixing bowl with eagle brand, melt in double-boiler or in microwave ( approx. 3 min ) stop to stir and repeat until caramels are melted.
  3. mix cake according to pkg. direction.
  4. grease and flour ( very important!) 13x9 cake pan.
  5. pour 1/2 the batter in and bake 15 min.
  6. remove cake from oven and pour the caramel /milk mixture over cake.
  7. pour the rest cake batter on top of caramel and bake 18 to 20 more min. ( or until cake is slighly pulling away from the edgeof pan.
  8. tooth-pic test does not apply to this recipe.
  9. the top,or middle, of the cake should be firm.
  10. cool cake to luke warm and frost with fudge recipe.
