Tart Cranberry Relish
- 12 oz. fresh cranberries
- 1 1/2 c. fresh orange juice
- 1 c. dried apple slices or chunks, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 c. golden raisins
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 2 (2 1/2-inch) strips orange peel, cut into thin julienne strips
- 1 (3-inch) cinnamon stick, broken in half
- 8 whole cloves
- 2 to 3 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
- Combine all ingredients except red wine vinegar in large non-aluminum saucepan.
- Bring to a simmer, stirring to mix well. Cover; reduce heat and cook until cranberries burst and mixture thickens slightly, about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in vinegar.
- Cool.
- Cover and refrigerate at least overnight and up to 1 week.
- Remove from refrigerator 20 minutes before serving.
