Cherry Chocolate Gelato

  1. Heat milk, stirring occasionally. Add sugar, cornstarch and cocoa powder, Mix well and bring to boil, stirring often.
  2. Remove from heat, and pour in 1.5 quart plastic container. Place in fridge/freezer for 30 minutes.
  3. Blend cherries, sugar, extract and oil until smooth. place in fridge until the thirty minutes is up.
  4. Whisk gelato base and cherry puree until blended.
  5. Place in freezer for 45-60 minutes. Use a spatula to scrape edges and mix until smooth. Repeat until thoroughly frozen.
  6. Do not store longer than 2 weeks.
