Stuffed Green Peppers
- 6 Green Bell Peppers.
- 1 Med. chopped onion.
- 2 Cloves garlic finely chopped....optional.
- 1 1/4 lb.Ground meat. Approx.
- 1/3 Each, beef, pork & veal. (50/50 beef & pork OK)
- 2/3 C. cooked rice, cooled.
- 1 Lg. egg beaten with a fork
- Lawreys Seasoned salt and freshley ground pepper to taste.
- 2 15 oz. cans tomato sauce.
- Mix all ingredients except tomato sauce. Cut tops off peppers and remove ribs. Remove stems from tops. Loosley fill with meat mixture. Add 1 can of tomato sauce to bottom of roasting pan. Stand peppers upright. Add second can of tomato sauce over the peppers. Either replace tops or cut into quarters and put in sauce along side of the peppers. I prefer the latter because I thinks it adds a tad more flaver to the sauce, but it's not as pretty if you're entertaining. (I doubt your guests will know the difference.) Serve with mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles.
