Strawberries
- 1- 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
- 1- 1/2 cups coconut, shredded
- 3 - 3 ounce strawberry Jell-O, dry
- 1 - 14 ounce can Eagle Brand Milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup water
- Green food coloring
- 4 ounces slivered almonds
- 1/3 red sugar
- 1/4 cup green sugar
- In large bowl mix nuts, coconut and dry Jell-O.
- Add Eagle Brand Milk and vanilla, and work with a wooden spoon until well mixed.
- Cover and chill 1 hour.
- Pour water in small bowl; color green with food coloring.
- Add almonds and color deep green.
- Sift almonds onto paper towel to dry.
- Shape chilled mixture into strawberries (using 1 teaspoon for each), roll in red sugar, and dip ends is green sugar.
- Use the almond sliver for the stems. Makes about 85 candies.
- Store in airtight container or in the refrigerator.
