Cherry Yogurt Blitz
- 2 cups of Low-fat,low or no-sugar vanilla yogurt.(approx. 100 calories per cup;
- 2 cups of frozen whole dark cherries;
- 1/2 cup whole toasted almonds
- Remove frozen cherries from freezer to refrigerator early in the day. (Alternative method is to measure out the cherries and use the defrost setting on the microwave).
- Reserve 4 defrosted cherries and/or 4 almonds for garnish.
- Put the yogurt into a small mixing bowl, or into the four individual bowls or glasses.
- Pour the defrosted cherries, and the whole almonds into a
- food processor. Chop lightly, only until the cherries and nuts are slightly chopped.
- Pour the cherry and nut mixture into the yogurt and swirl slightly in the bowl of yogurt (or into the four dessert dishes or wine glasses.)
- Garnish each serving with a whole cherry and/or almonds.
- Return to the refrigerator until serving time.
- These ingredients can easily be decreased or increased to serve other numbers of guests.
- This is a healthy alternative to a typical dessert.
