Sorshe Mach
- Rohu (freshwater fish found in Bengal, India) - 8 pieces
- Mustard Oil to fry the fish
- Mustard seeds - 2 tbsp
- Green Chillies - 6 - 8
- Garlic - 5-6 pods
- Tomatoes - 1 medium
- Turmeric (Haldi)- 1/2 tps
- Salt to taste
- Marination time - 15 min
- Preparation Time - 15 min
- Frying the fish - 30 min
- Total Time - 45 min
- Marinate the fish for 15 min with turmeric and salt.
- Shallow fry the fish till slightly brown in mustard oil.
- Soak the mustard seeds in water for 15 min.
- Make a paste of mustard seeds, garlic, green chillies (4-6).
- In the same pan where the fish has been fried, drain out excess oil and put in the mustard paste and the remaining green chilies (slit horizontally), add water.
- Chop tomato into 4 pieces and add. Let it simmer for sometime and then add salt to taste.
