Stephens Creamy Macaroni & Cheese

  1. Preparation
  2. In medium saucepan combine corn starch, salt, dry mustard and pepper; stir in cream and milk.
  3. Add butter.
  4. Stirring constantly, warm over low to medium heat and heat 1 minute. Temper eggs and add to mixture.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Stir in 1-3/4 cups (425 ml) cheese until melted.
  7. Add elbows.
  8. Pour into buttered 2-quart casserole.
  9. Sprinkle with reserved cheese.
  10. Bake uncovered in 375 degree (200 C.) oven 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
