Cantonese Shrimp And Green Beans
- 1 1/2 lb. frozen large, raw shrimp, deveined
- 1 1/4 c. boiling water
- 3 Tbsp. oil
- 1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed or 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger or 1/2 tsp. minced fresh ginger
- 1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen cut green beans
- 1 Tbsp. cold water
- 1 1/2 tsp. instant chicken bouillon
- 1/4 c. slant sliced green onions
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- Thaw frozen shrimp.
- Dissolve instant bouillon in boiling water.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet.
- Cook onions, garlic and shrimp in hot oil over medium heat for 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Stir in salt, ginger, pepper and green beans.
- Mix well, then cover.
- Let simmer for 5 to 8 minutes until beans are crisp cooked.
- Stir cornstarch in cold water.
- Add to shrimp mixture.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until thick and clear. Serves 6.
