Best Cookies Ever
- 1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter, softened (not margarine)
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 c. rolled oats
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips
- 1 plain semi-sweet or milk chocolate bar (8 oz.), grated
- 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts (such as almonds, walnuts or pecans)
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars.
- Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- Mix in the flour, oats, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix together.
- Roll dough into small balls (no larger than ping pong ball size).
- Place about 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 6 to 7 minutes.
