Chocolate Sheet Cake
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 4 Tbsp cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Icing
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 4 Tbsp cocoa powder
- 6 Tbsp milk
- 1 box of powder sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1. Preheat oven to 400.
- 2. Sift together flour,sugar and salt.
- 3. In a medium sauce pan, boil water, shortening and cocoa. Pour over sifted ingredients. Then add buttermilk, baking soda, cinnamon, eggs and vanilla.
- 4. Pour cake batter into a greased and floured jelly roll pan. Bake for 20 minutes.
- 5. Combine icing ingredients and pour over warm cake.
