That Incredible Holiday Sandwich
- 1 loaf French bread (Pepperidge Farm is good)
- mayonnaise
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- finely chopped parsley
- large pkg. boiled ham
- dill pickles (quarter strips)
- Cut bread in half lengthwise.
- Hollow out both sides.
- Spread mayonnaise and cream cheese evenly on both sides.
- Sprinkle both sides with chopped onion.
- Sprinkle both sides liberally with chopped parsley.
- Drain dill quarters and wrap with two slices boiled ham (I use rectangular size slices).
- Place pickle and ham roll diagonally across trough in one side of bread loaf.
- Cut last pickle and ham roll in two to fill space at ends of loaf.
- Place top of loaf over filled bottom loaf and press down gently.
- Wrap tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for several hours before serving.
- Cut slices at angle, about 1 1/2 inches thick to serve.
